Y’all know I love a good OG strain, and Decibel’s got a great one here. I do have my criticisms for this strain, however. The nugs are very pretty, and though they aren’t huge nor mind-blowing to look at compared to Decibel’s other strains (Cosmic Bananas, Grapevine Gas, etc.), they’re covered in trichomes with a classic earthy green finish. This Decibel OG is for the true OGK heads. The candy and Gelato strains have been dominating the market, so if more brands could drop more Kush, we’d see a healthy balance. Things aren’t balanced, so good on Decibel for this limited release.
What I love most about this flower is the smell and sedating high. The aroma reminds me of the older Kush, with that skunky, pine finish on the nose. This strain is historically great for relaxing, sleep, and its euphoric effects, and that’s what you’ll get with this OG. It’ll knock you out if you get a little too comfortable after smoking it. The presentation on this flower is impeccable, and if the taste were up to par with everything else, this would be scored a little higher. It’s slightly harsh with a weak taste overall. But for what it’s worth, this is a new favorite of mine. For a while I was afraid that good OG would be hard to find, but I’ve found a few gems lately. Though overpriced, the options are truly there.
Another banger by Decibel. This OG is a limited release, so it likely won’t be around for much longer. I wouldn’t consider it better than the Grand Master Kush by CBX, though. It certainly competes, but the taste and effects on this Decibel OG don’t quite hit as hard. As far as where this ranks among other Decibel strains, I’d say it’s a little on the weaker side compared to their staples. Regardless, you should try and cop this OG, and if it’s not available, you might as well buy some other shit by Decibel. It’s a pretty penny, and not really justified considering the sales tax at dispensaries, but that’s cause I’m a cheap-o. If you’ve got the cash, just stick to the safe bet that is Decibel.
